Medical College, Tiruppur has steadily developed into an active centre for
clinical, academic, and public health research, fostering a strong culture of
scientific inquiry among faculty and students. Research activities span a wide
range of disciplines, including Community Medicine, Medicine, Pediatrics,
Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Surgery, Dermatology and allied specialties with
studies addressing local health priorities, disease patterns, diagnostic
modalities, and treatment outcomes. The institution has a well-established
Scientific Committee and Institutional Ethics Committee, both of which meet
regularly every month to review, guide and monitor research proposals, ensuring
methodological rigor and strict adherence to ICMR ethical guidelines. This
structured and supportive research governance framework has encouraged
consistent scholarly output. To date, nearly 100 research publications have
originated from Government Medical College, Tiruppur, published in indexed and
peer-reviewed national and international journals, reflecting the academic
productivity of the institution. Undergraduate students actively participate in
research through ICMR-STS projects, research projects and conference
presentations under the mentorship of experienced faculty. Research findings
from the institution have been disseminated at various state and national
scientific forums, contributing to evidence-based practice and policy
