The Department of Orthopaedics has been providing comprehensive musculoskeletal care to the community with a commitment to excellence in patient care, teaching, and research. The department functions under the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) and plays a vital role in delivering quality orthopaedic services.
The department offers complete diagnostic evaluation and treatment for disorders related to bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, and spine. A daily Orthopaedic OPD is conducted with facilities for fracture management, trauma care, and follow-up services. Emergency orthopaedic services are available 24×7.
The department is equipped with well-established operation theaters, modern instruments, and imaging support for performing both routine and advanced orthopaedic procedures. Adequate faculty members are available as per NMC norms. The department also provides a conducive academic environment with well-ventilated classrooms and smart teaching facilities for undergraduate training.

OBJECTIVES | +

1. To provide comprehensive OPD, IPD, emergency, and surgical orthopaedic services.
2. To manage acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions including trauma, degenerative disorders, infections, and deformities.
3. To provide timely, ethical, and evidence-based orthopaedic care.
4. To impart competency-based orthopaedic training to MBBS students as per NMC curriculum.
5. To develop clinical examination skills, diagnostic abilities, and procedural competence among students.
6. To train students in emergency orthopaedic and trauma management.
7. To promote clinical research and academic activities in orthopaedics.
8. To conduct community outreach programs and orthopaedic screening camps.
9. To create awareness regarding injury prevention, bone health, and rehabilitation.
