- The Department of Biochemistry offers academic services to Undergraduate and Postgraduate students of Medical and Allied Health Sciences.
- Our department trains MBBS students (100 students/year) in clinical, applied Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. The students achieved 100% results with Honours and Distinction in University exams held in 2022. Continuous efforts are made for inculcating knowledge and skills in forthcoming years.Students are encouraged to participate in research activities and several other academic programmes.
- Postgraduate doctors under District Residential Programme are mentored to acquire competency in clinical evaluation, diagnostic services and interpretation.
- Thedepartmentfocuses on academic and hands on experience in various laboratory equipment and techniques for DMLT students.
- The Clinical Biochemistry section of the Central Laboratory provides services 24X7 with diligent professional team.
- The lab is equipped with fully automated Clinical Chemistry analyzers, Immunoanalyzers and Electrolyte analyzers. Thelaboratory performs an average of 75,000 tests per month. Around 50 parameters are analysedincluding routine chemistry, electrolytes, hormonal assays and body fluids. The laboratory participates in both Internal and External Quality Assurance Schemes to provide quality results for better patient care.
